What is the effective date for death of an employee or dependent?

The effective date for death of an enrollee is the date of the death. Premiums owed to Issuers when a death occurs will be pro-rated. When an employee dies, dependents will also be removed from the policy as of the date of death. Enrollees losing coverage will be eligible for a special enrollment period in the Individual Marketplace.
